Ellen’s and er…. her hausband’s (?) shopping trip

Ellen and Nicole, after having decided to move in together and after having found a suitable flat, had to do some home improvements which may partly be due to Ellen’s as well as Nicole’s very high standards of a suitable habitat.

So the two of them went to the DIY-store in Ellen’s small car. Apart from both Ellen’s and Nicole’s rather feminine interest in decoration and matching colours of nearly all things Ellen also has an interest in all other things related to DIY and also gardening.

Naturally Ellen also went into the power tool section of the store while Nicole was in the paint section where Ellen was surrounded by the all male staff as well as the predominantly male customers. Between all the men Ellen was reaching up for some of the power drills, taking one after the other in her hand to see which one would be most comfortable to work with.

But one of the male customers (clearly overweight and not neatly shaven, rather the opposite) walked up close to Ellen and asked while looking down (Ellen is just about 5’4”): “are you choosing the tools for your husband?” He started grinning like an idiot.

Ellen quickly raised one of her thinly trimmed eyebrows and then replied: “Do you think that my partner should have a word then? – Nicole! Could you come over here? This gentleman suggested that you help me choose a tool!”

The grin quickly disappeared from the man’s face when Nicole appeared.
