the awkwardness

A couple of months ago I was back in the town where my parents live and where I went to school and where the gay scene consists of about two pubs and one club and one bigger LGBT party event twice a month. I went to the bigger gay party and there I bumped into one of the teachers who works at my old school. I know that this teacher was married with children that was at least accurate when I went to school and during my current trip I spotted a wedding ring on his hand and he looked pretty uncomfortable and nervous so I deduct that the ring he was wearing was not worn to signal a connection to a boyfriend but still to mark his heterosexual marriage.

Can anyone imagine the awkwardness I felt?
