The Macedonian artist Esma has found a valid reason why she and her co-artist only came in second-last: it was the gay lobby who manipulated the results for the second semi-final so that they just couldn’t win*. Their much to be desired for result was certainly nothing to do with the fact that this lady can’t sing – as well as other contestants, I mean.
I’m not interested in the Eurovision song contest and I’m certain that there will be plenty of other gays who couldn’t care less about the song contest. This point is certainly no argument that will convince someone who is already convinced that gays are secretly in control. But don’t staunch homophobes even feel slightly embarrassed about the fact that they’re insinuating that the powerful gay lobby gives priority to sabotaging a song contest when they could use their secret influence to manipulate countries like the Kingdom of Saudi–Arabia, Nigeria or Iran where homosexuality is punishable by death?
*Esma denies having made this comment and in an official statement she claimed that she’s supportive of gay/LGBT-rights. The official statement can be read in the first link (and additionally here). The artist goes so far as to claim that the newspaper which originally reported the alleged claims of a gay lobby has completely fabricated the interview.
